Hon'ble Finance Minister, in his Budget Speech of 2015-2016, announced a scheme for distribution of bicycles to an estimated 40 lakh students studying in classes IX to XII in Government and Government Aided Schools and Madrasahs of the State.







Sabooj Sathi is a scheme of West Bengal government for distribution of bi-cycles to estimated 40 lakh students of class IX to XII studying in Govt. run and Govt. aided Schools and Madrashas. The scheme was launched in September 2015.







Eligibility Criteria of Sabooj Sathi Scheme:-


Applicant must be permanent resident of West Bengal

Student it must be studying in class 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th

The students must be studying in government run or government aided schools or madrasahs










Documentary required:-


Aadhar card

Student’s ID card

Ration card

Residence certificate

Mobile number

Passport size photograph







Benefits of the Sabooj Sati prakalpa:-


The biggest advantage of using this software is that it provides great convenience for students who cannot afford a private car for each class. This program will definitely help reduce the dropout rate in Bengal. Using this program, students also gain the confidence to drive vehicles in school. The prime minister also said that he would prepare another application to provide students with another 10 million bicycles. West Bengal students can travel to school in a comfortable, environmentally friendly vehicle. This will be a very big step towards the implementation of the program in the country.

 Students are not required to participate in this program. The school administration sends a list of students. Then I sent the bike to school. Then teachers and volunteers distributed bicycles to the students.

Process followed:-


Procurement of bicycles was through E-Tender as per existing norms of the State Government.




Bicycle specifications include Standard accessories – Front Basket, Carrier, Stand, Full-half chain cover, bell. Overall IS specification - IS 10613-2004. Bi-cycles procured in phase-II and phase-III will bear 10 special reflectors in accordance with the advisory issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India for rider’s safety.






Students’ records are entered on-line through Sabooj Sathi portal by the schools, validated thereafter by Sub Inspectors of Schools, Additional District Inspectors / District Inspectors of Schools.





Block Development Officers perform the task of creating delivery points and tagging schools to finalise delivery point-wise requirement of Boys & Girls bicycles.





Suppliers are given opportunity through Sabooj Sathi portal to enter consignment details so that those can be tracked by the officials of State Government.





Schools generated Distribution record from their individual log-in facility. Finally, the schools uploaded data like date of distribution, bi-cycle brand, Bi-cycle frame No. (Unique), particulars of student etc.




District-wise, Block wise and individual student wise Distribution records are made available in the public domain in the Sabooj Sathi portal on real time basis.

Objectives of Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme:-


The main objective of WBMDFC  Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme is to encourage the minority communities to send their children to school and to prevent dropout. This scheme also helps students to continue their higher education, increasing their employability potential.







Eligibility Criteria for Aikyashree:-


The eligibility criteria to avail the benefits of the Aikyashree Scholarship are different according to the educational levels and type of scholarship one is applying for.


Type of Scholarship Eligibility Criteria Pre- Matric & Post- Matric(i) Bear Domicile Certificate of WB.

(ii) Must be studying in any approved by Central/ State govt.

(iii) Minimum of 50% marks in the previous examination.

(iv) Annual income of family must be less than Rs. 2 Lakh.

(v) Must be studying in WB institutes only.Merit-cum-Means(i) Bear Domicile Certificate of WB.

(ii) Must have admission in any professional/ technical course.

(iii) Minimum of 50% marks in the previous examination

How to Apply for Aikyashree Scholarship?


The applicants must follow the step-by-step procedure to apply for the scholarship. The application form is available on the official website of WBMDFC, the link to which is provided below.





1: Student Registration


Step 1: The interested and eligible students are required to visit the official portal of WBMDFC and click on the “New Registration” tab as shown in the image below.


Step 2: The students need to select the district of the institute they want to apply for.

Step 3: The students need to register themselves for the scholarship by filling the following details carefully. Click “Submit and Proceed” at the end.






2: Scheme Eligibility


Step 4: Fill all the fields under Scheme Eligibility section to check the student’s eligibility to qualify for the benefits of the scholarship.





3: Successful Registration


Step 5: After successful registration, the students will be provided with a temporary user ID. Preserve the user ID for the next stage.


Step 6: Check the registered email ID for User ID and password.







4: Student Login


Step 7: Login using the provided User ID and password.


If anyone wants to fill the application form later, select the “Student’s Login” tab on the homepage and log in using the User ID and Password.

Step 8: Change the password for security purposes.






5: Final Submission (Online)

To help all the poor in West Bengal, the High Minister of West Bengal instituted a new system. This new system is known as the Joy Bangla Pension System in West Bengal. In today's article, we will discuss various important features and benefits of this plan. We've created a step-by-step guide to help you apply to join the Joy Bangla West Bengal program. We have also provided important dates and eligibility criteria for the program and important documents for applying for the program.












Jai Bangla Pension Scheme Online Application Process:-


If you want to apply under Jai Bangla Pension Scheme, then for this you have to follow the following steps.


First of all, you have to get the Jai Bangla Pension Scheme application form. To download the form, click on the link given below.


After downloading the form, you will have to fill in all the information asked in it carefully. Such as – name, gender, DOB, age, father name, mother name, caste, etc.


After filling in all the information, you will have to attach your required document form.


After this, you have to submit the completed filled form to the following offices according to your area-


The Block Development Officer in case the applicant resided in rural areas.


The Sub-Divisional Officer in case of the applicant is residing in Municipal / Notified areas outside the areas of Kolkata Municipal Corporation.


Commissioner of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in case the applicant resides in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation area.

Eligibility Criteria:-


To be eligible for the West Bengal pension scheme you have to follow the following eligibility criteria mentioned below:-


The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal state.


The applicant must belong to BPL category.


An applicant must belong to the scheduled caste or scheduled tribe community.


The applicant must be not above the age of 60 years. 


The applicant must not be enrolled in other pension schemes of the West Bengal State.








Joy Bangla Pension Beneficiary:-


After you will submit the form the following selection procedure will be undertaken by the concerned authorities:-


The Application Forms will be duly verified by the BDO/SDO or Commissioner of KMC. 


They will ensure the eligibility of the applicants under the scheme.


All the eligible forms deposited physically shall be digitized and uploaded in the State Portal by the BDO/SDO 0r Commissioner of KMC.


The BDO and SDO will recommend the names of the eligible persons in digitized form to the District Magistrate through the State Portal.


The District Magistrate will then forward it to the Nodal Department.


The Commissioner, KMC will recommend the names of eligible persons to the Nodal Department directly through the State Portal.


The Nodal Department will sanction the pension. 


The payment will be made directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through the WBIFMS portal.


The State Portal will be integrated with WBIFMS for seamless flow of disbursement of pension. 


The pension will be sanctioned on the 1st of ever.
